My Story

Raised in and around Berkeley California, I left for the Northeast for college and graduated Cum Laude from Brandeis University with a double major in Mathematics and Economics and a minor in English, so I have the breadth and interest to provide superlative prep.  I also earned a Masters in Business Administration from Cornell, have lived overseas in England and Venezuela, and have served as an adjunct professor in Mathematics at Clark University (Worcester, MA) and Boston University.

Before relocating to the Bay Area this past summer, I worked closely with more than one thousand students from the greater Boston area (including from some of its most elite area prep schools: Dana Hall, Belmont Hill, Noble and Greenough, Newton Country Day, The Winsor School, Roxbury Rindge Latin, and Milton Academy) and played my part in propelling Sharon’s High School to national prominence as a prestigious Blue Ribbon School (each year I tutored 6-9% of Sharon’s junior class in SAT/ACT).

My tutoring style not only borrows from my parenting experiences and relating to my own three grown children but also reflects the tremendous diversity of personalities and learning styles with which I have worked. I imbue my sessions liberally with my own far-ranging curiosities, love of learning, and passion for life. As a result, I tend to find strong connections with students, from how to find one’s unique voice as a young adult to the challenges of growing up in the face of ever-increasing expectations and shrinking attention spans.

Apart from meeting students, I love exploring the outdoors with my family: hiking, biking, and occasionally looking silly skate skiing.
